At GEMS Pty Ltd, we have a principal trainer who then draws support from a pool of specialised trainers. The specialised trainers are selected based on the needs of our individual clients.
All of our trainers have,
- Undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications in Environmental Science or a related discipline
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
- A minimum of five years adult education training experience

Member of Australian Institute of Training and Development
- Began his career as high school maths and science teacher (1979-1980)
- Former Head of Education and Communication at the NSW State Pollution Control Commission (1980-1987)
- Manager, Education and Training NSW EPA (1986– 1987)
- Marketing Manager, Harness Racing NSW (1987-1988)
- Established GEMS Pty Ltd (1988)
- Developed and delivered effective environmental and sustainability training programs for a wide range of sectors including:
- Mining, e.g. Downer EDI Mining
- Building and development, e.g. NSW Master Builders’ Association
- Major infrastructure, e.g. Sydney Water
- Federal, state and local governments
- Clear and concise writer
- Editor of the National Stormwater Industry Association Bulletin (2011-present)
- Editor of the Australian Association of Environmental Education Newsletter (2001-2005)
Publications Manager – Robyn Worthy
BA (Public Relations), BCom (Marketing)
Robyn joined the team in 2009 as a Personal Assistant to Mr Chris Gray. With a background in Marketing and Communications her role quickly expanded to include producing the Stormwater Industry Association monthly Bulletin, electronic newsletters, training documents, marketing collateral and proposals.
